There are so many good models available today in Indian market.
I always recommend my students to Buy branded models see below.
Key of C is reccoemnded for beginners.
Hohner
Special 20 progressive
Special 20 Marine band
Marine Band crossover
Suzuki
Harp master
Blues master
Sydel
They are little expensive so I don't reccomend for beginners.
But they have very good harmonicas.
Above brands have some very good models to offer for beginners and Experienced players.
What is Diatonic harmonica

Special playing technique line draw Bending and Over bends extends the tonal range and you can play the Instrument chromatically in all 3 octaves.
It's sounds is typical for blues,folk,Country,Pop & rock music.
It has 10 holes and you get these in all musical keys.
C,A,G,D,E & Bb are most popular Keys.
A beginner is recommended to By a harp in Key of C only.
once you are comfortable to Play C key harp you can go for Other Keys to change the playing mood.
Playing technique remains same for any key.
Playing Technique is Different from Chromatic harmonicas.
with little practice and right guidance you will be able to play many melodies in less time.

In this article I will share my experience that i had with Low Priced Diatonic harmonicas that are available in Indian market.
The Price Range
Diatonic Harmonica price range starts from Rs 350 and can go upto Rs 4500 for a standard Instrument.
some of these harps under Rs 1500 are really disappointing for quality reasons.
Tonal Quality
With low priced harmonicas you will realize very soon that the Tonal quality is not so good and some times many reeds would not play or may not be tuned to correct Frequencies.
and you would complain that some hole do not blow or draw.
Ease of playing
With low priced harmonicas you may get exhausted very soon as it will require high amount of breath for reeds to respond.
they may not be air tight most of the time.
Quality
It goes by the Proverb.
you throw peanuts you get Monkey's.
- Cheap ones may be leaky.
- They may not blow draw/Respond in some holes of higher and lower octaves most of the time.
- They may not be air tight.
- Reeds may break while playing
- Poor Sound quality.
- Draw bends,blow bends and other techniques may not give desired results.

buy a standard harmonica.
